6th Grade Students worked to create chairs from recycled materials as an engineering project. They used recycled cardboard boxes and their old poster projects with no new added materials. They built average sized chairs with arm rests and backs that could hold 20 kg worth of textbooks!

6th Grade hiked through the floodplain at Fort Snelling State Park. Students learned about how annual flood impacts the ecosystem. We saw a large amount of wildlife including an eagle, deer, beavers, and wild turkeys. While hiking we completed a sensory nature journal. We then discussed the history of the park and its connection to the Dakota people.
